1983 Final Full Match Highlights Prudential World Cup

This was the 3rd edition of the cricket world cup. This tournament also sponsored by prudential Assurance Company for the 3rd time. Therefore it was called prudential cup 83’. The tournament was held from 09 June to 25 June. Once again England and wales became host country.

Eight participants took place in the tournament and played 27 matches. With 60 overs but again clothes and balls were traditional.

Through all 8 participants England, India, Pakistan and West Indies qualified to the Semi Finals. Through them India and West Indies selected for the finals. Finals was held on 25 June in Lords, London. Though many people expected West Indies victory but it never occurred. For the 1st time India defeated West Indies by 43 runs in an unexpected manner.
